| Q: | The bible says that repentance is not enough for sins of abominations. What does a repentive man who had an encounter when he was young look forward to? Is there salvation? Can the Kingdom of Heaven be reached? | ||||||
| A: | Dear Friend, I don't know what Bible passage you are talking about that says that certain sins are not forgivable. Jesus already made the punishment payment for all sins on the cross for all people. II Cor. 5: "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing men's sins against them." If Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, that means that your sins are included. You are not separate from the world of sinners. You are a part of the world of sinners for whom Jesus died and made the complete payment for sins. Peace has been made before God for all sins. It has been made by God. Your sins are forgiven by God because of Jesus' life and death and resurrection. If you are troubled that you may have committed the sin against the Holy Ghost, you again need not to worry. You describe yourself as one who is repentant. Repentance in its broad sense means that you are sorry for your sins and that you trust in Jesus for your complete payment for all of your sins. The sin against the Holy Spirit means that you are not repentant and that you do not have faith in Jesus. That is not the way you describe yourself. Be confident that your sins are forgiven. I would strongly encourage you to talk with your pastor about this. Receive his continuing assurance from God's Word that your sins are forgiven. | ||||||
