Q: The pastor is not always the head of the church. Most churches I know of have a board of elders. Also, the associate pastor is under both the board of elders and the pastor.

Moreover, a woman is allowed to share and talk about her faith, even to men. Isn't this what a pastor does? Can't a women be a pastor, as long as she doesn't administer the sacraments to men?

Your question involves two matters. One is the office of the pastor. The role of the pastor is defined in the call that a congregation issues to him. This role does involve authority as it is defined in the call.

The other matter is the God given role of man and woman. A woman is not to have authority over a man (1 Tim 2:12).
