| My fiancée and I are having a problem. I grew up United Church of Christ and he WELS. The problem is UCC is very liberal and WELS is not. I was taught different things about the Bible then he and we are at disagreement. I know asking this site is bias to my thoughts but I owe it to him to find out. I have several questions:
1. What happens if a single mother is a WELS member, because she is not a man and did not live with a man she would not have had a say in what happened in the church body. In a case like this what happens? I grew up in with a single mother!

| The church has always recognized that the men of her family and if she has none, the pastor and elders of the church have a special responsibility to look out for the welfare of the woman who is alone. An example of this is the special concern the church had to care for its members who were widows. See Acts 1 and 1 Timothy 5.
