Q:John

My new Gods Word Bible which I find the very best translation to understand and read, says there was (some) water their instead of their was (Much) water there or the water was (deep) there. Did the original Greek word allow for any of the three to be used? Some or much or deep? If it said deep, does it say how wide? 4 inches or 20 feet, or deep, ankle deep, or 1 mile deep? If it means much. Was it a spring flowing down a mountain? Do theologians know where this place is that would answer these questions? That arise in one's mind?

A:I can't answer this because there is no verse reference. It sounds like he might be referring to John 3:23, but the GW translation does not have the reading he says at that point. We do not know where the places in John 3:23 are.
