Q:Matthew, Luke

I've often wondered about the parable of the talents as recorded by Matthew primarily and also by Luke. Does this mean that those who invest their money, say in the stock market which is supposed to be the best investment for capital appreciation, are obeying God's command more than those who simply put their savings in a bank or credit union savings account? Or do these parables refer to how we use our time and talents (abilities) for the Lord's work?

A:The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) and the Parable of the Minas (Luke 19:11-27) were spoken on different occasions. Both parables are speaking about using all of God's gifts, spiritual and temporal, in his service.
