| Q: | Corinthians 4:9-11 verse 10 says, "For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." What is your interpretation of "according to what he has done, whether good or bad?" We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, but judged by? | ||||||
| A: | Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that without faith it is impossible to please God. So unbelievers have nothing good on their record, only bad. By grace, God counts what believers do according to his will out of love for Christ as good. Believers have all their sins removed from their record. Believers then have all bad removed from their record and what remains is only what God in grace counts as good. So when God judges according to what people have done, he is looking at the outward record which indicates whether a person had faith or not. | ||||||
