| I was speaking with a friend, who is Catholic, regarding the temptation of Adam and Eve. He asked how I knew that it was Satan and not just the "crafty" serpant which tempted them (Biblical proof.) Part of his question stems from his belief that Satan and his followers fell sometime after Adam and Eve fell and were expelled from the garden. |

| There are several passages that would identify the serpent of Genesis 3 with Satan or the devil. One is Revelation 12:9 which refers to him as "that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, who leads the whole world astray." A similar reference is found in Revelation 20:2. |
