| Would Luke 10:21 be a verse in defense of Infant Baptism? Jesus says: "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." Would this be a verse in evidence of faith worked in infants through the work of the Holy Spirit in Baptism? What would the Greek translation of "little children" be in this verse?

| The Greek word for "little children" in this verse is neepioi which can mean an infant or a child that is legally still a minor (e.g. Mt 21:16). The word is also used to refer to a Christian who is still immature in faith (Hebrews 5:13). Perhaps a better passage to use to show that Jesus says little children can believe is Lk 18:15-16. There we are told that mothers were bringing nursing babies (Greek: brephee) to Jesus, and that Jesus says that these little children are members of God's kingdom.
