| Q: | Are we in fellowship with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Australia? I have seen them listed as members of the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC) some places and not others. The WELS website does not seem to list the info that is in the WELS Yearbook about Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Australia. I wanted to refer somebody to a church in Australia and was not sure what to do. | ||||||
| A: | Yes, the ELSA and WELS remain in doctrinal fellowship with each other, and the ELSA is a member of the CELC. I have no explanation for the apparent inconsistent reporting of this information. I acknowledge that recent attempts to contact ELSA personnel by email have not received prompt reply. Perhaps email addresses have changed and we did not know it. I understand and lament your difficulties, but do not have a quick remedy to offer. | ||||||
