| Q: | In a recent post, a questioner criticized the Web site of a new WELS mission in the Chicago area for coming across as vague, ecumenical, and looking like a Disciples of Christ Web site. He stated that he could not find any reference to WELS on the church's website. Having my interest piqued, and not being familiar with this congregation, I went to the website (www.crossroadschicago.org) and very quickly found the following quote: Perhaps the website was updated since the questioner had visited it, but I would hardly call that vague and Disciples of Christ-like! This isn't really a question, but perhaps a caution to fellow WELS members against making accusations without carefully checking into the facts. Thank you. | ||||||
| A: | Thank you for your balanced response. Your suggestions are good for all of us. First, make sure we have our facts straight. Second, go directly to those with whom we sense a difference. Going to the brother, "just between the two of you," is Jesus' way of dealing with sin, real or perceived. | ||||||
