| Q: | Has the possibility been discussed that the prophet Muhammad is the antichrist as opposed to the pope? | ||||||
| A: | People have identified a large number of historical figures with the Antichrist. Muhammad has been suggested by many. There is no question that Muhammad was AN antichrist in many respects, but he was not to be identified as the man of sin graphically described in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, who historically has been termed THE Antichrist. A careful examination of the description given indicates that the Antichrist of all antichrists dwells within the Christian community, not outside of it. The Antichrist had its beginning already in the early church and will endure until he is exposed and condemned at Christ's second coming. Muhammad did not fit these criteria. We believe and teach the the Roman papacy fits all the Bible criteria for identifying the chief Antichrist. You are invited to examine our position and the basis for it.
